Rooted Santa Barbara County hosted our First Annual Plantsgiving Dinner on November 17, 2022 with a sold out group of 38 guests! This was Rooted’s first small fundraising event, generously hosted by Chrissy and JD Roth in Montecito, Ca. A beautiful fall feast was prepared by cookbook author and celebrity chef Melissa Petitto R.D., Co-Founder of Thymeless, My Chef. Melissa is passionate about bringing to the community her 17 years’ experience as a Personal Chef via 100% plant based meals delivered weekly. Highlights of the feast included Portebellow Mushroom Wellingtons with Red Wine Jus, Haricot Vert with Terry Wild Mushroom Sauce and Crispy Shallot Casserole, Cauliflower with Turmeric Tahini Apple Cider Vinegar Sauce, Pomegranates, and Fresh Herbs, and a range of beautiful sides and desserts.
Guests mingled, bid on a small silent auction, and learned more about Rooted’s mission, current projects, and ways to support our work in Santa Barbara County.

Supporting Our Work - We’re currently an all-volunteer organization and we see incredible room and need to grow over the coming year. We understand that this time has enormous challenges for everyone, so while we’ll be seeking support to help roll our vision forward, we’re also thinking creatively to keep our costs low to efficiently build resources and deliver programming at low to no cost to our community. If you’d like to support our work, we hope you’ll consider making a donation to one of our giving programs through our community partner, the Santa Barbara Foundation!
